AWO and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sign a protocol

of cooperation to empower Arab women and business leaders in various fields

The Arab Women Organization and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the South and East Asia region signed a cooperation protocol aimed at empowering Arab women economically, building their capacities and improving their access to employment, finance and banking services.
Ambassador Mervat Tallawy, Director-General of AWO stressed the importance of this protocol to facilitate women's access to loans, to identify what is new and modern in the fields of entrepreneurship, agricultural, and economic sectors, to obtain the necessary information to establish projects and provide advice from the local side. And to provide plans that enable women to succeed in their projects and obtain the necessary funding from banks, associations and local and international organizations. In addition to providing a professional training program on entrepreneurship skills, and  linking this training with guidance and providing a wide network of women's assistance.
The signing of the protocol of cooperation with the Arab Women's Organization (AWO) is an important and fruitful step in the history of both institutions and is a guarantee for women entrepreneurs and Arab women. "The signing of this protocol is a great support for business leaders in different fields. Fifteen percent of Arab women work as business leaders, support and manage their projects with their individual needs and support and motivation.
Ms. Janet Heckman, CEO of EBRD stressed that signing of the protocol of cooperation with AWO is an important and fruitful step in the history of both institutions and is a guarantee for women entrepreneurs and Arab women. Heckman added also that signing of this protocol is a great support for business leaders in different fields as 15% of Arab women work as business leaders, who support and manage their projects with on their own, and they need more support and motivation. That is why this cooperation will be very productive and important.
