The meetings of the Arab Women’s Committee at its 38th session, and the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 63rd Session of the UN Commission on the

 AWO participates in the meeting of the Arab Women’s Committee at its 38th session, which is entitled "Social protection for the empowerment of women", to be held on 24 February 2019 in Algeria.

The work of the 38th session is organized by Ministry of National Solidarity, Family Affairs and the Status of Women of the Algeria headed by Minister Ghania Al-Daliya, and the League of Arab states- Department of Women, Family and Childhood.

Many topics will be discussed including: the sustainable development agenda for Arab women 2030, Political participation of women in the Arab region, promotion of women's social and cultural rights, women, peace and security, combating terrorism, and combating violence against women.

It is worth mentioning that AWO will also participate in the preparatory regional meeting of the 63rd session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women on 23 February 2019 in Algeria on the side-lines of the meetings of the Arab Women Commission.
the preparatory regional meeting of the 63rd  session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) aims to unite the visions of the Arab countries and adopt a unified Arab position for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, which is the theme of the session to be held from 11 to 22 March 2019 in New York.
