Cultural workshop with the participation of eleven Arab countries on: "Dismantling Stereotypes in Culture and Parenting in Arab Societies" in Beirut

 Under the patronage of H.E. Mrs. Claudine Aoun, president of the National Commission for Lebanese Women and President of the High Council of AWO

AWO will hold a workshop on " Dismantling Stereotypes in Culture and Parenting in Arab Societies " with the participation of 11 Arab countries (Jordan, Tunisia, Iraq, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania, Lebanon, Libya and Yemen) on 20 and 21 June 2019 in Beirut, Lebanon. 
The workshop will be inaugurated by Mrs. Claudine Aoun and Dr. Fadia Kiwan, Director General of AWO.
The workshop aims at combating discrimination and strengthening equality in education and culture by changing the stereotypical societal culture of the roles and capacities of women and girls and replacing them with content that respects gender equality.
The workshop reviewed the image of women in the cultural content directed to children, the different schools of education and their impact on the psychology of children of both sexes, as well as the impact of gender discrimination in education.
The workshop includes practical training by dividing participants into working groups on cultural production for children, including “children's stories- dramas- games” and recommendations on the cultural, psychological and educational content of children. 
The workshop is attended by experts in the field of education, psychology and psychiatry for children and specialists in writing and creativity for children.
