On the occasion of the International Day of Conscience

The Arab Women Organization commends the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain and warns against the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis of refugee

On the 5th of April, the world celebrates the International Day of Conscience, which was recently adopted by the United Nations on the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the aim of mobilizing the efforts of the international community to promote peace, tolerance, inclusion, understanding and solidarity.

AWO commends the initiative of the Kingdom of Bahrain and warns against the exacerbating of the humanitarian crisis of refugees and displaced persons. 
AWO seizes this opportunity to draw the world conscience into the tragic conditions of millions of refugees and forcibly displaced people in the Arab region, the majority of whom are women and children, whose crisis is currently exacerbated by the pandemic of the deadly Corona virus.
AWO calls on the international community to join hands in supporting victims during this pandemic, and stresses the necessity of launching Intensive efforts to achieve peace, and to ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid to civilians, including all necessary materials to combat the Corona epidemic.
