Headed by Libya : The Ninth General Conference of the Arab Women Organization discusses the challenges facing women and girls in the Arab region


The AWO announced the holding of its ninth general conference, entitled "Women and Girls in the Arab Region: Intersecting Challenges and Promising Prospects," under the presidency of the State of Libya, on February 27-28, 2023.

The working sessions of the conference will discuss four main regional studies prepared by experts from Arab countries from a comparative perspective, in the fields of: laws of violence and harassment in the workplace, laws of elections and political parties, social security systems in the field of women’s health, and empowerment of survivors of violence in wars, conflicts, occupation and terrorism. In each of the four main axes, it presents national reports dealing with the experiences of Arab countries in the issues under discussion.
